HOW sad that Mrs M Smith wastes her precious camera film on taking a photo of an elderly gentleman's greyhound, passing water on her garden wall (Letters).
Greyhounds are more often than not exracers, and this man has probably kindly given the dog a home, and there they are, enjoying an evening stroll when they are confronted by a couple who then take him to task, as well as photographing the incident!
All creatures need to pass water. I daresay many cats and wild animals use the wall in this way, and we have more than enough rain to wash it clean again. What do they want this gentleman to do? Carry a sponge perhaps? Depositing faeces, not water, amounts to fouling and is understandably an offence. No Mrs Smith, save your film for precious photos of your children and grandchildren, and beautiful places and scenes, and don't be so pernickety!
