TWO teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at Arden School.
Firefighters were called to the Knowle school after a blaze broke out on Wednesday morning.
Pupils had to be evacuated after a portable, wooden building in the school grounds caught fire. No-one was hurt during the incident, which happened during the morning break.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Two boys aged 12 and 13 have been arrested on suspicion of arson. They are helping police with their enquiries.”
Fire crews from Solihull and Hay Mills had been called to the school at about 10.30am.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “The fire involved 90 per cent of the underside of the building. It did not break thorough the building.
“A further search for fire spread and hotspots was taken using a thermal imaging camera.”
