Borough children have been teaching their parents a thing or two about road safety outside schools.

Pupils at schools in Smith’s Wood and Castle Bromwich teamed up with the local council and police to combat the problem of parking outside their schools.

At the start of the term, PCSO Allan Cameron was contacted by four local schools - Castle Bromwich Junior School, Castle Bromwich Infant and Nursery School, St Mary and St Margaret’s Church of England Aided Primary School and St John The Baptist Catholic Primary School ? who agreed to work with the police to improve all aspects of road safety.

The students, aged between five and 11, were set the challenge of designing posters to keep drivers on their toes.
