A SOLIHULL schoolboy is flying high after winning a competition to guess the length of Birmingham Airport’s runway extension.

Freddie Cutts, aged 13, won an exclusive framed photograph of Concorde on its 2003 farewell tour, after correctly guessing 405metres in the Airport’s summer-long campaign to help raise awareness about the new development.

Freddie said: “Because I live close to the Airport, I’m always interested in what’s going on. I was looking at the Airport’s website only a few days before the Catherine de Barnes Fete and so when I saw the competition I couldn’t believe it. I knew the answer straight away!”
