Amateur photographer Amy Wilson, of Saint Martin’s School, picked up the prestigious prize in the 2012 Oxford University Press Maths Photography Competition for her urban scene of the Birmingham Bull Ring.

Judge Karl Warsi, the Oxford University Press secondary maths publisher, said: “We liked the contrast of Amy’s carefully composed photo, which showed an impersonal city scape vista, but populated with people and cars going about their business.”
