SCIENTIST Dr Kate Lancaster was the guest speaker at the prize-giving ceremony at Saint Martin’s School in Solihull.
UK-based Dr Lancaster’s area of research is laser-driven fusion energy which she conducts using the highest power lasers around the globe.
She spent the day with pupils before presenting the prizes in the evening, giving an inspiring address and challenging all to think about the need for sustainable energy.
Saint Martin’s is an independent school for girls up to the age of 18.
