Andrew Nielson was arrested on November 17 after he was caught stealing the items worth £23.29 from Bodycare in Solihull.

Two memory cards belonging to Osborne’s in Solihull were also found on the defendant after he was arrested, Solihull Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

The 39-year-old was seen taking the items from Bodycare, which included four tubs of Vicks, Anadin and a packet of 300 sweeteners, and was escorted back into the High Street store by a PCSO.

In his defence, the bench was told Nielson ran out of anti-depressants, which led to him stealing the items.

Nielson, of Thornwaite Close, Frankley, admitted theft and was sent to prison for eight weeks.
