Service first

WE are delighted to confirm that both the morning trolley service staffed by WRVS and the afternoon trolley run by the Friends will continue to operate at Solihull Hospital. There was never any intention of stopping either service. The WRVS shop management were assured that this invaluable service would continue under the new provider, staffed by volunteers.

Not all WRVS volunteers have gone over to the Trust Volunteers Service. However, the majority have, determined that patients would not be left without a trolley service. After all the ‘S’ in WRVS stands for Service.

Many customers have stopped to say thank you and how much the WRVS will be missed. We’ve been associated with the hospital for well over 30 years.

We would like to thank the 40 strong WRVS ladies and gentlemen who have helped run the shop and trolley. They have been a very dedicated, caring, friendly group, giving selflessly of their time and talents.

It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to work with such lovely people.

Elaine Gray and Sue Maskell, WRVS shop, Solihull Hospital.
