A SOLIHULL estate agent has appeared in court accused of fleecing an elderly couple out of more than £300,000.
Darren Aston, 42, denied charges of theft and fraud at Birmingham Crown Court after he was accused of allegedly targeting a 93-year-old woman and her 87-year-old husband, who suffers from dementia.
It is claimed the businessman, who runs his own estate agency, Key Moves Independent Estate Agents Limited, befriended the Yardley pensioners, alledgedly pocketing £312,800 between 2007 and 2011.
It is believed the case centres around allegations that Mr Aston, from Shirley, Solihull, received some of the money after persuading the couple to grant him power of attorney over their affairs.
The case was adjourned until January 14 next year.
