A MAN accused of hurling abuse and racial taunts at fellow bus passengers has been arrested following a police appeal in the Solihull News.

CCTV images had been released of the suspect, who allegedly launched into a rant aboard the No 6 bus on January 23.

And last Friday, a 67-year-old man, from Shirley, was arrested in a borough pub.

Officers had been tipped-off by members of staff who recognised their customer from the newspaper articles.

The man has been charged with two public order offences, one of which is alleged to be racially motivated.

He will appear before the bench at Solihull Magistrates Court next Monday (March 5).

As part of bail conditions he has been banned from using the No 6 service, between Solihull and Shirley.
