A FURIOUS Shirley mother says she has been forced to take her daughter out of school because of persistent bullying.

Liza Hopkins claims to have been so ‘appalled’ with the lack of support from teachers at Light Hall School, she has removed 14-year-old daughter Lorna for her own safety.

Headteacher Vic Scutt stressed this week that a “thorough investigation” had been carried out and appropriate action taken.

Miss Hopkins said: “I just couldn’t watch my daughter go through it any more - it has been heart breaking.

“Lorna is not the same girl. She has lost her confidence and she wasn’t eating properly. The last thing I want is for Lorna to be out of school.”

The 32-year-old mum said her daughter has had to endure months of constant name calling and threats from the same group of pupils.

Mr Scutt said: “As a school we only work with students and families, plus other relevant agencies, in supporting students in all aspects of their school life.”
