A Solihull cyclist is competing at the Cycling World Championships this week.
Dannielle Khan has been announced in the Great Britain team for the UCI Junior Track World Championships.
The Solihull Cycling Club athlete will compete as Britain’s lone rider in the women’s sprint event in The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, in Glasgow.
Cycling is the second sport in which Khan has enjoyed an international championship - she became European champion in speed skating for her age group in 2009.
Khan described her earlier experience as “perfect preparation to hopefully come away with a medal in Glasgow”.
The Shirley star said: “I am really looking forward to competing on the briliant track that will host next year’s Commonwealth Games Cycling events with all my family watching.”
The Solihull Sixth Form College student will also be joined by fellow Solihull Cycling Club rider Lucy Nelson who is a squad member for the championships.
