A SHOPLIFTER and drug addict has been handed a suspended prison sentence after she stole over £200 worth of goods from stores in Solihull.

A SHOPLIFTER and drug addict has been handed a suspended prison sentence after she stole over £200 worth of goods from stores in Solihull.

Zoe Mallen, 39, was caught on October 19 stealing over £20 worth of chocolate from Sainsbury’s in Solihull, Solihull Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

When her belongings were searched, she was also found with two Apple TVs worth £198, taken from the store in Touchwood.

Magistrates were told Mallen has a long history of difficulties with drugs and while she has made progress to address the problem, she slipped back into her old ways following the death of her partner.

Mallen, of Great Hampton Row, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to theft and handling stolen goods and received a six week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. Mallen was also placed under a supervision order for 18 months and told to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
