A mother, who used her child’s pushchair to steal groceries from a Solihull store, has been given a 12 month community order.

Avril Wilson, of Flint Green Road, Acocks Green, had stolen £153.29 worth of food and alcohol when she entered Morrisons on February 18.

Gez Newsome, prosecuting, said she placed many items under a pushchair, she has a 14 month old.

The court heard the 42-year-old was subject to a community order at the time.

Wilson, who pleaded guilty to shoplifting, was handed a new 12 month community order, with supervision and a 21 day victim awareness course, and ordered to pay £150 costs.
