STUNNING student Sian Hanna is reaching for the sky in a bid to be crowned Teen Queen 2010 in a national beauty pageant, by taking a death-defying leap for charity.

The Solihull College student, aged 17, from Hall Green in Birmingham, is in the national finals of the UK’s biggest beauty pageant and will take to the catwalk in London on August 18 and 19 when she will vie for the title of Teen Queen of Hearts 2010.

The youngster was spotted by fashion scouts amongst the crowds at The Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre in November and nominated for the competition.

She went on to beat 10,000 other hopefuls from all over the UK to reach the final after a public vote on the internet.

Her proud mum Tina said that Sian, who is studying for a place at university to be a social worker, was now busy raising funds for charity - one of the criteria of the competition.

The youngster, a health and social care student, has bravely decided to make a parachute jump later this month in return for sponsorship as her involvement in the fund-raising.

Sian said: “I am a bit nervous about the sky-dive but am willing to do anything for such a good cause.”

Sian is hoping to make her brave leap and raise up to £1,000 for the Teen Queen UK’s chosen charity project this year which is to help villagers in a remote Ghanian village in Africa.

Anyone wanting to make a donation towards the charity or sponsor Sian’s leap can do so at www.justgiving.com/sian-hanna-teen-queen.
