Side in fight to keep lead

Highgate United 3 Dudley Sports 2

Having what looked to be a comfortable three goal lead with just minutes remaining, Highgate were eventually forced to work hard for their win over Dudley Sports after the visitors accepted two late gifts to set up a nervous finish.

Highgate’s reward is a trip to Tipton Town in the next round, to be played on October 22, having already been beaten by the Black Country side in the FA Cup.

Ben Judd opened the scoring after 13 minutes, Steve Jackson adding a second on 51 before Judd completed his brace on 72 minutes. However a Dudley revival made it a pulsating finish as Gate hung on.

On Saturday Highgate visit Kirby Muxloe in the MFA League (3pm) and on Tuesday, October 4, they entertain Alvechurch in the Polymac Services League Cup (7.45pm).
