Silverline set to run new S12 bus service

SOLIHULL coach operator Silverline has won the contract to provide the new S12 bus service between Acocks Green and Sheldon.

SOLIHULL coach operator Silverline has won the contract to provide the new S12 bus service between Acocks Green and Sheldon.

Silverline Travel Services, which has a fleet of executive coaches and already runs the 672 bus route (to be renamed S10) between Cranes Park in Sheldon and Solihull, won the contract in the face of stiff competition.

Business development director Danny Matthews said the new S12 route – which goes into service on January 26 and will run via Olton and Hobs Moat – was one of only two put out to tender by Centro following the recent review of bus services serving the borough.

n The new hourly single-decker service departs Acocks Green from 7.15am until 6.15pm, returning from Sheldon from 7:38am until 6:38pm, Monday to Friday.

n The service also operates on a

Saturday, starting one hour later at 8.15am.
