A COUPLE have called on the talents of a famous friend to help raise money for The Child Growth Foundation.

A COUPLE have called on the talents of a famous friend to help raise money for The Child Growth Foundation.

Licensees Louise and Ashley Gargan have asked Simon Fowler, of Ocean Colour Scene, to play at their Balsall Common pub.

The singer will be thrashing out his greatest hits in the grounds of Ye Olde Saracen’s Head tomorrow (Saturday).

Louise said that she wanted to help the charity, because her four-year-old son Robert has a rare growth disorder.

“We are raising money for the charity due to the support they have provided to us since he was born,” she said.

The family had organised a similar event last year, at the Drum and Monkey, in Dorridge, and are hoping for another good turn-out this time.

Visitors can also look forward to stalls, games and a BBQ at the Balsall Street watering hole.
