Singers unite for concert

HAMPTON Singers are inviting singers to join them in their annual Singalong on Saturday July 18.

HAMPTON Singers are inviting singers to join them in their annual Singalong on Saturday July 18. This event has grown in popularity each year – now in its sixth year - and will be staged at St Mary & St Bartholomew`s Church in Hampton in Arden.

This year, singers are invited to join in singing Mozart’s dramatic Requiem, led by conductor John Bayley.

Sue Kiely, the Hampton Singers chairman, said “This will be a real village event in the heart of our community with the local pub and bakery able to provide refreshments for the singers. There will also be homemade cakes available made by members of the choir.”

Last year, over 90 singers attended the Hampton Singalong event, coming from across the West Midlands and beyond.

The event starts at 10am, with a break for picnic lunch and finishes with an informal concert at around 5pm.

Tickets (£10) are available from David Bixby (01675 442979) or at the door from 9.30.

Musical scores are provided.
