BUSINESSWOMAN Karren Brady will be launching this year’s Knowle Fun Run.
The former Birmingham City boss will be there to start runners on their way and also presenting trophies to the speediest athletes.
Ms Brady, who lives in Knowle, said she was “thrilled” to be involved in this year’s fund raiser.
Organisers Knowle and Dorridge Lions announced the news on their website.
A spokesman said: “It’s always difficult to find someone new. They do have a life as well and like to spend their Sundays with their families. Which is why this year we are especially pleased to announce that Karren Brady has agreed to join us and send all the runners off in style.”
Since leaving Birmingham last year, the 40-year-old has been unveiled as one of the judges in the next series of The Apprentice.
Working alongside the formidable Alan Sugar, she will be keeping a beady eye on contestants in the BBC series.
Ms Brady is the latest in a long line of local celebrities to launch the fund raiser.
It was comedian Jasper Carrott who started the trend in 2001 - offering to give money to charity for all those athletes who finished ahead of him.
Since then, ELO’s Bev Bevan, DJ Phil Upton and funnyman Don Maclean have been among the stars to sound the klaxon.
