I write in support of recent letters regarding Solihull council and the new “improved” waste collections.
I was amazed to watch a collection in Stonor Park Road recently. Not only was the refuse technician smashing glass bottles together but he was not wearing safety glasses or gloves.
This left quite a sizeable amount of broken glass on the pavement and road which had to be cleaned up by local residents. Is this what we pay our council tax for? Would the council have admitted liability in the event of an accident or tyre damage?
Finally - where do I send my invoice for my time cleaning sorting and separating my materials and use of water? Or will we see a reduction in our ever increasing council tax?
