ROYAL Navy recruit Luke-James Fields from Smith’s Wood has marked the successful end of his basic training.
The 20-year-old was among other recruits on parade at HMS Raleigh for his passing out ceremony after completing a 10 week induction course.
Luke James, a former Coleshill School pupil, arrived at his training base in Cornwall in October last year after previously working in a hotel.
“I joined the Royal Navy to defend my home nation and to see the world. One of the highlights of the course was the sinking ship simulator called Havoc,” the recruit said.
