PATIENTS treated by breast surgeon Ian Paterson at Solihull Hospital have been invited to attend an open meeting this month.
Sir Ian Kennedy, who is chairing the independent review into breast care services at Solihull Hospital, is inviting patients to the meeting on Wednesday, March 13, to share their experiences of how the hospital managed their concerns and issues relating to incomplete mastectomies.
Those attending will also discuss whether the actions taken in response were appropriate and carried out in a timely manner, which will form part of Sir Kennedys evidence gathering.
Mr Paterson was suspended from practising medicine after accusations he carried out hundreds of botched breast cancer operations.
The surgeon is also being investigated by the General Medical Council, the GMC, over claims he may have unnecessarily removed lumps from both male and female patients breast tissue.
The meeting, which is for only those affected, is due to take place at the St Johns Hotel, Warwick Road, Solihull between 6pm and 8pm.
Those who would like to attend are asked to call 0121 424 1811 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
