MAGGIE Throup, prospective Conservative MP for Solihull, has raised grave concerns over the financial stability of Solihull Care Trust and is asking for action to protect services for borough residents.
She said: “Public papers show the trust must make savings of £11.25 million in this financial year. This is a huge task.
“I have written to the new chief executive of West Midlands Strategic Health Authority, Ian Cumming, asking him to make the financial situation in our care trust his number one priority.”
Sally Burton, chief executive, Solihull NHS Care Trust said: “The future financial sustainability of the trust is dependent on us working to improve efficiency and productivity. This is the same challenge that is now facing the whole of the NHS. We believe it is possible for us to both reduce expenditure and improve the quality of the services we provide.”
