SOLIHULL College is lightening the load for a local pet charity and has started taking in abandoned cats.

The college has teamed up with pet charity Blue Cross to offer the animals somewhere safe to stay until they can be re-homed.

The first cats arrived at the college this week and will stay in specially made ‘cat chalets’ where students studying courses in Animal Management and Veterinary Nursing will be looking after them.

Carrie Lamb, Blue Cross regional foster manager, said: “Our partnership with Solihull College will give homeless cats the best chance of finding a new home, while enabling students to gain useful first-hand experience of looking after animals. So it really is a win-win partnership for all of us, including the cats.”
