THIS Sunday (July 8) husband and wife Jonathan and Jenny Eden from Solihull will be using pedal power for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) by taking on the Heart of England cycle challenge in memory of Jonathan’s father, Geoff.
The couple will join over 300 other cyclists taking part in the Heart of England Cycle Ride, organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club in support of the BHF and local causes.
Jonathan, aged 53, said: “My father Geoff suffered a heart attack in 2003 and underwent a quadruple bypass but died last September at the age of 84.
“The BHF helped the family a great deal by giving us reading materials to help us understand his condition in more detail.
“We have decided to do this bike ride for the second year running but this year in memory of my dad and to help the BHF continue to offer support to families affected by heart disease.”
The event is over a choice of 13, 19 and 31 mile circular routes taking in the glorious Warwickshire countryside and villages.
On the day entry costs £15 per adult and £7.50 per child.
Just turn up at Baddesley Clinton National Trust house, B93 0DQ between 9.30am and 11am.
