A EUROPEAN champion salsa dancer hoping to become the first woman to represent the UK in an international competition has made a passionate appeal for a sponsor to come forward to help realise her dream.

A EUROPEAN champion salsa dancer hoping to become the first woman to represent the UK in an international competition has made a passionate appeal for a sponsor to come forward to help realise her dream.

Steph Brown, from Acocks Green, has taken the dancing scene by storm since she started salsa seven years ago.

“From the moment I first walked into that salsa class, I was hooked. It was my release, my chance to let all my emotions out without having to say a word,” the 23-year-old told us. ‘‘Now I dance seven days a week, sometimes for up to five hours a night and couldn’t imagine my life without it.”

After becoming the sole salsa teacher at university, Steph came back to the Midlands and set up her own dance company. In November last year, she entered the European amateur salsa championships with her dance partner, winning the title of European Champion.

Now she is hoping to represent her country at the World Salsa Championships in Puerto Rico in July.

n To sponsor Steph, call her on 07774533217.
