BOROUGH families can help each other cope with the trauma of miscarriage with the help of a new group being set up at Heartlands Hospital.

The monthly group formed by the Miscarriage Association, with support from the hospital, will be run by specially trained volunteers who have themselves lost a baby in pregnancy. The first meeting will be on Thursday July 19, 7.30pm-9pm.

Kate Paine, the group’s co-ordinator, said: “This group can help people find the support that is right for them.”

Rachel Small, Heartlands Hospital’s miscarriage midwife specialist, added: “We are delighted to support this group. For some being able to talk to someone who has gone through the experience is the support they need.”
