Solihull firm Aceon Battery Solar Technology a finalist at Conservative Party Conference competition

MARK Thompson, the Solihull entrepreneur behind successful Aceon Battery Solar Technology, reached the final 12 in the Conservatives’ Start-Up Hub competition showcased at the Birmingham Party Conference.

MARK Thompson, the Solihull entrepreneur behind successful Aceon Battery Solar Technology, reached the final 12 in the Conservatives’ Start-Up Hub competition showcased at the Birmingham Party Conference.

Mr Thompson said: “I was delighted to get through to the final 12 of this nationwide competition which attracted many and varied entrants.”

Local Conservative Maggie Throup said: “Mark’s business ticks so many boxes; it uses green technology, it manufactures, it exports and it’s employing more and more people.”

Mr Thompson added: “Being part of the Start-Up Hub was a really good opportunity to show my products to so many more people. I’ve made some excellent contacts which I’m sure will be useful in the future.”
