STAFF from Amtech’s offices in Solihull joined colleagues from the Milton Keynes office to take part in the Milton Keynes marathon last week.
As one of the key sponsors of the MK Marathon, Amtech fielded nine runners for the event, comprising both individual competitors and relay teams. Between them, the ‘Team Amtech’ corporate relay teams raised £305 for selected charities, with Amtech doubling this and donating £500 to two individual runners, raising a grand total of £1,610.
Charities supported by Amtech’s fund raising including Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Brain Tumour UK, Papworth Hospital, Epilepsy Research and Cancer Research.
Dubbed the ‘Green Marathon’ for its traffic-free route through scenic countryside, the inaugural MK Marathon proved to be a great success with over 4,000 runners taking part.
Amtech’s sales director Nick Harper said: “Amtech has a long history of supporting local fund raising events and it would be good to see the marathon become a regular fixture for our charitable activities,.”
