FOUR firms in Solihull are aiming for success after making the shortlist in the 2013 Midlands Business Awards.
Sales-i of Solihull has made the final five in the Midlands Exporter of the Year category. It supplies unique business intelligence software for sales people that monitors customer behaviour and purchasing trends to analyse when, why, where and how businesses buy their products and services – transforming this knowledge into targeted, high-quality sales opportunities.
Joining it in the final of that category is Solihull-based Surgins Surgical, which is among the fastest-growing exporters of stainless-steel and titanium surgical instruments.
The company was founded by a team of surgeons, who had a clear insight into the needs of the market.
The finalists in the Midlands Service Provider of the Year include World Wide Magazine Distribution Ltd of Chelmsley Wood, Solihull. It specialises in the distribution of magazines to independent and multiple retailers in niche markets, helping thousands of business owners to significantly increase profits.
Alok Mathur is a finalist in the Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year category. He founded Soul Tree Wines Solihull with Melvin D’Souza, because the pair saw a gap in the market for a new source of wines. The firm imports specially commissioned wines from India.
The names of the winners will be revealed at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on Friday 1 February 2013 at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.
