SOLIHULL Council is encouraging school leavers and young adults to get along to the Solihull Apprenticeship Show to find out about apprenticeships and talk to local employers.
The event is on Wednesday, March 13 at the Christian Renewal Centre, Lode Lane, Solihull, B91 2JR from 3.30pm until 7.30pm.
The show aims to raise awareness of apprenticeships, provide information on the different apprenticeship programmes available, explain how to apply for them and find out about the types of training offered.
Already signed up for the show are local employers Jaguar Land Rover, Mansells and Secure Trust Bank.
The National Apprenticeship Service will also be on hand to provide answers to any questions.
Last year over 1,000 young people and their parents attended the Councils first Apprenticeship Showcase in 2012.
Councillor Ian Court, Solihull Councils Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: Last years Apprenticeship Show was a great success and displayed the wide range of opportunities and advice that is available.
I do not want our young people to miss out this year. Many local companies have joined in to lend their support.
We want to create a brighter future for our young people and build a prosperous Solihull.
Apprenticeships will play a major part in achieving these aims. My message to the boroughs youngsters is clear: come along to the Solihull Apprenticeship Show on March 13, to find out if an apprenticeship is right for you.
