Solihull magistrates fine mum for daughter missing school

A mother has been found guilty of not ensuring her child regularly attends school.

A MOTHER has been found guilty of not ensuring her child regularly attends school.

The case was heard in the mother’s absence at Solihull Magistrates Court last Thursday, August 26.

The court heard that the 15 year-old girl had attended 70 out of a possible 104 sessions between April 19, 2010 and July 7, 2010. All of the 34 absences were unauthorised.

The mother has been ordered to pay a £350 fine, a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £120.
