WHAT an re-ward-ing meal! The Mayor of Solihull has been given a taste of patient life after he was invited to sample hospital food.

WHAT an re-ward-ing meal! The Mayor of Solihull has been given a taste of patient life after he was invited to sample hospital food.

Coun Ken Hawkins, the Mayor, met with trust chairman, Lord Philip Hunt, and governor John Roberts, on August 24 before tucking into a range of patient meals, from classic British to Caribbean, at Solihull Hospital.

“The steak and kidney pie I’ve just tried is excellent. Any myths about hospital food being poor can clearly be dispelled,” said the Mayor.

He also took a tour of the central production unit which produces meals for all three Heart of England Foundation Trust hospitals; Solihull, Heartlands and Good Hope.
