Solihull MEP welcomes credit card charge move

MALCOLM Harbour, West Midlands MEP and Chairman of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee has welcomed new measures to stop excessive charges for people using debit or credit cards to buy goods and services.

MALCOLM Harbour, West Midlands MEP and Chairman of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee has welcomed new measures to stop excessive charges for people using debit or credit cards to buy goods and services.

Mr Harbour said: “Too many businesses have been deploying unscrupulous practices and charging excessive sums when people use their credit or debit card. I’m delighted that as a result of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, these practices will now be banned in the UK.”
