Solihull mum fined after son skips school

A mother has been prosecuted for not ensuring her child attended school.

A MOTHER has been prosecuted for not ensuring her child attended school.

The 14 year old boy attended school 123 times out of a possible 162 between January 11, 2010 to June 4, 2010. All 39 absences were unauthorised.

The mother, who did not attend the court hearing at Solihull Magistrates on July 22, was found guilty and was ordered to pay a fine of £350, along with £110 costs and a £15 vitim surcharge.
