Solihull offender is jailed for smashing window and breaching community order

A SERIAL offender who smashed the window of his ex-girlfriend’s Chelmsley Wood home has been jailed.

A SERIAL offender who smashed the window of his ex-girlfriend’s Chelmsley Wood home has been jailed.

Aaron Nash was also given further prison time at Solihull Magistrates Court on Monday for a previous offence of stealing over £1,000 of goods from Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull, after he failed to complete a community order.

Gez Newsome, prosecuting, said: “Waterloo Avenue is the home of the [ex girlfriend’s] family. Nash had spoken to his former partner on April 21 on the phone and threatened to go round to the house and smash a window, which is what he did, causing around £250 worth of damage.”

The bench was told by the probation service that Nash was also in breach of a community order imposed for stealing from his employer, Jaguar Land Rover - he missed several unpaid work appointments.

The defendant had also committed other offences at his ex-partner’s home between 2003 and 2010, the court heard.

In his defence, the bench was told, Nash, of Warwick Road, Chadwick End, had ‘wrongly prioritised’ visiting his mother in hospital and attending his probation appointments.

He pleaded guilty to criminal damage and was handed a four week prison sentence for criminal damage.

Magistrates revoked the community order for the theft by employee charge and re-sentenced Nash to a further 15 weeks in custody.

In addition, the court imposed a restraining order preventing Nash from having any contact with his former partner for the next two years.
