Solihull residents in protest over planned phone mast.

SOLIHULL’S MP Lorely Burt has joined forces with Elmdon residents to fight a phone mast application just yards from their homes.

SOLIHULL’S MP Lorely Burt has joined forces with Elmdon residents to fight a phone mast application just yards from their homes.

A group of Framefield Road residents met the MP this week to make a stand against the plans.

They say the proposed 15-metre mast to be built on Damson Parkway will be too close to the airport and houses.

Questions have been raised over why these plans have arisen, especially after proposals for a previous phone mast in the area had just been rejected.

Mrs Burt said: “I’m surprised because previous applications in the vicinity have already been fought off. It is unsightly and looks out of place in what is a very green area. The application also appears to break the councils own planning laws.”

A petition will be submitted to the full council.
