LIGHT Hall School is going green.
The Shirley school now has ‘eco’ status and has just gained its Bronze Award in recognition of working towards a sustainable lifestyle.
The school’s ‘eco committee,’ which consists of pupils, staff and a parent governor, is leading the project and is encouraging others to think about recycling and reducing energy in school.
Community development manager Sue Watson said: “We have already held energy and waste campaigns in school to raise awareness.
“Pupils have taken part in an art competition to produce posters supporting this cause.”
The posters will be on display at the Go Green Fair in Mell Square on Saturday, June 16, as well as in the classrooms and around school.
