INTERNATIONAL efforts to help families left homeless by the 2010 Chilean earthquake are being boosted by students from Solihull School.

Pupils from the co-educational independent school held a quiz and auction evening which raised more than £3,000 for the rehousing charity Un Techo para Chile (A Roof for Chile).

The proceeds, which include £500 from the Old Silhillians’ Association, will be used to build new homes for people in the port area of Concepcion and a nearby fishing village wiped out by the earthquake and the accompanying tsunami.
