SCHOOLS across Solihull have been enjoying a splash of international culture after representatives from schools in China paid a visit.

Light Hall, Castle Bromwich Junior, Hazeloak, Monkspath, Chapel Fields and Our Lady of Compassion have strong links with schools in the Chaoyang District in Beijing.

The Principals from the six Chinese schools and two members from the education authority in Beijing visited each of the Solihull schools last week. Vic Scutt, Headteacher of Light Hall School, said: ‘It was a delight to welcome them on their very first visit to England thanks to British Council funding. The visit will help schools work on joint projects in the future involving children from both countries to develop their global perspective.”
