From Steven Segal to Benedict Cumberbatch, karate and kick-boxing champion Dean has worked with some of the biggest names in over 25 films.

He has created stunts for TV and film including Third Star and The Friday Night Project, but being stunt coordinator doesn’t come risk free and for his latest film which features Robert Englund, Steven Berkoff and Martin Kemp, Dean had some hair-raising moments.

“There was a bit where the lead actor had to stand on a ledge 40ft up,” he said. “He was going to be put in a safety harness but I was the one who had to make sure it could take the weight. Luckily I didn’t end up on the pavement! That’s the thing with being a stunt performer, we’re dispensable.”

The martial arts expert also took a turn in front of the camera, playing the werewolf Mutt.

Despite an ambition to appear in a Hollywood blockbuster alongside idol Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dean is also passionate about martial arts off screen and has competed on behalf of England at international level.

Now the stuntman to the stars is offering to pass on his skills with several classes in Kickboxing and Karate across Shirley and Solihull.

l Strippers vs Werewolves opens at cinemas across the UK on April 27.
