Excited borough pupils from two secondary schools are hoping members of the public will vote and send one of them with their family on a dream holiday worth £600.

The four students, Liam Barron and Mia Whitehouse, from Alderbrook School, and Kirsty Duggins and Rachel Casey, who attend Smith’s Wood College, have won through to a regional competition final organised by local online agency specialists, Everywhere Travel, based near Birmingham Airport.

The Year 7 students are also up against four 11-year-olds from two Birmingham schools.

The children had to describe their perfect holiday week in just 150-250 words, highlighting location, travel, weather and cuisine, plus the attractions and activities available.

Everywhere Travel managing director Stephanie O’Reilly said: “Both teachers and pupils have really embraced the competition and the quality and quantity of entries has been very high.

“A lot of thought has obviously gone into all the hundreds of entries we received, but the eight we’ve chosen as finalists just had a little bit more about them and certainly got us wishing we could visit the places described.”

n To view the entries and vote, visit http://everywheretravel.co.uk/competition.aspx. The closing date for voting is midnight on Tuesday, March 31.
