There’s even more for pampered pooches in Solihull because the borough’s most luxurious hotel for dogs has unveiled a brand new suite, sensory suite and exercise area.
In The Dog House, in Meriden, features ten extravagantly themed rooms, from the French Fancy to the Glamping Pad, for owners who want to ensure their canines receive a five star treatment in a “home from home” while they are away.
The glamorous alternative to kennels, which opened in August, lets its four legged guests unwind to classical music, enjoy a complimentary massage or catch up on their favourite show on a special ‘doggy TV channel’ – as well as plenty of fuss, walks and treats.
Now the doggy hotel has added a sparkling new wintery suite ‘The Lodge’, as well as a fantastic sensory room for dog socialisation, large outdoor exercise area and My Happy Dog puppy training classes.
A bath and brush service is also available with a full grooming service coming soon.
In the Dog House co-owner and founder of Walkies Pet Services, Nikki Scarlett, said her canine guests loved the extra fuss, attention and exercise they received at the hotel.
“We’ve got nothing against kennels,” she added. “They definitely have an important place. But some owners like to know their dogs have all the same creature comforts as home.
“People don’t always see it as luxury, they see it as a necessity.”
In The Dog House is also hosting a number of fun and informative events for local pet owners.
On Saturday, November 15, the centre is inviting dog owners to a special grooming event, run by My Happy Dog puppy trainers, who will be giving away the tricks of the professional dog grooming trade, tips and plenty of freebies.
The session is £10, held at the doggy hotel in Cornets End Lane, Meriden. For tickets and more information call Charlotte Steele 07947 139769.
In the Dog House is also hosting its own Winter Fayre event on Sunday, November 30. Featuring a raffle and plenty of dog treats and goods, it offers the perfect chance to check out what the hotel has to offer and pick up some Christmas gifts.
Finally, the hotel is collecting toys, blankets, dog food, dog beds, towels and more for charity.
“This year we would like to donate to the local independent dog charities. Old or new it doesn’t matter,” said Nikki.
