SOLIHULL’S brand new Marie Curie Hospice opened its doors to its first day care patients this week and their verdict was - “it’s beautiful”.

SOLIHULL’S brand new Marie Curie Hospice opened its doors to its first day care patients this week and their verdict was - “it’s beautiful”.

“It’s so spacious, so much more room to move about in,” said patient Rose Jones.

As well as offering in-patient care, the hospice has a thriving day care side and the new premises boast consulting rooms for doctors and therapists, use of a computer for patients, promising plans for a kitchen garden and much more.

“At our Warwick Road premises we really were desperate for space, here the patients really do seem delighted,” said nurse Heather Cooke.

Her colleague Louise Hathaway agreed: “We will be able to see more patients which means we’ll be able to help more people. We’re now hoping for a fantastic summer because the gardens will be spectacular.”
