IT’S hard to believe that Touchwood is entering its 10th year so to celebrate, the centre will be unveiling 10 pledges to offer shoppers the chance to take advantage of a series of events, promotions and activities over the next 12 months.

Its first pledge will see the launch of a new exhibition called 10 years of Touchwood and local residents are urged to to get involved and share their memories of the centre.

Guests who visit the interactive exhibition will be invited to write down their memorable moments and bring along photographs of their own experiences at Touchwood during the last 10 years. There will even be an opportunity for them to share their stories in person via a video kiosk.

Paul Birkett, general manager at Touchwood said: “Touchwood has gone from strength-to-strength since it opened in 2001 and we are delighted to be celebrating our 10th year. There is no doubt that we owe much of our success to the support we have received from the local community, which is why we wanted to invite the whole community to join us in our festivities.

“We encourage everyone to get involved, so if you would like to contribute your memories and photographs, whether it’s of the building work, a memory of meeting the Queen at the grand opening ceremony or a more personal moment such as choosing a wedding list in John Lewis, shopping for your first baby clothes, starting your first day at work or a big family celebration in one of the restaurants, then please pop along. You could even be in with a chance of winning a £250 gift card for your submission in our prize draw.”

10 years of Touchwood will open between 11am and 4pm on Wednesdays to Sundays from January 15 to February 11 in Poplar Arcade.
