Spaceman stolen from Solihull town centre

All eyes last weekend were on Felix Baumgartner - the first skydiver to go faster than the speed of sound after leaping to earth from the outer reaches of the atmosphere

All eyes last weekend were on Felix Baumgartner - the first skydiver to go faster than the speed of sound after leaping to earth from the outer reaches of the atmosphere.

But back on terra firma, another spaceman was being snatched from a Solihull town centre eatery by thieves.

The 3ft astronaut, dressed in a white suit and helmet, was stolen from TGI Friday’s, in the Touchwood centre.

Sgt Kirk Whitehouse said two men were seen taking the statuette from the restaurant on Sunday evening, at around 6.40pm. Anyone with information should call Solihull Police on 101.
