SPONGEBOB SquarePants will be Solihull's special guest for switching on of the town centre Christmas lights at the end of the month.
The famous cartoon character and his friend Patrick will be joined by Solihull's very own shining star for the annual event in Mell Square.
To the uninitiated Spongebob is a sea-dwelling sponge who gets tangled up in all kinds of trouble but has the biggest heart in Bikini Bottom!
The animated twosome will be leaving their 'pineapple under the sea' to be in Solihull for one night only.
Spongebob and Patrick will be entertaining the crowd with fun and games, along with the BRMB roadshow who will provide entertainment, music and prizes.
Father Christmas and his reindeer will lead a procession of extraordinary superheroes and well-known villains through Solihull town centre - starting on the High Street and making its way to Mell Square. The fun starts at 4pm.
The Solihull Times has again teamed up with Touchwood, Mell Square shopping centre and Solihull Town Centre Partnership to find one lucky reader who will join the big Christmas lights switch-on in Solihull.
The winner will ensure that the town sparkles in style by switching on this year's Christmas lights.
We are looking for someone special who has been particularly brave or deserves recognition.
The winner will be guest of honour at the switch-on and receive £200 worth of prizes.
