The choir will probably be unlike anything a youngster has experienced before, and new choristers quickly come to look forward to the training sessions and services.

It also gives the children a chance to meet up with friends from many different schools, and throughout the year there are regular social, leisure and sporting activities organised.

Applicants need not have any previous musical or singing experience – although organisers are keen to hear from children who are already learning an instrument. Potential, enthusiasm and the ability to work as a member of one of the country’s most special teams are the key elements.
