A packed two-day event will be taking place later this month to mark the 75th anniversary of St Leonard’s Church, in Marston Green.
Opened in 1938, the red brick building replaced a much older chapel and parishioners and villagers are preparing to mark the milestone.
Solihull’s Mayor and Mayoress will open the festivities on May 18-19 with a May Market in the parish hall and an exhibition of memorabilia from the church’s past.
The market runs on Saturday from 10am-4pm, and there will also be a maypole, country dancing and a bouncy castle outside.
The exhibition of photos, newspaper cuttings and parish documents will remain on display on Sunday, from 11am-6pm.
Also visiting on Sunday will be Archdeacon of Aston, Brian Russell, who will preach at the festival service and the close of the exhibition.
